The Ziehler Lawn Care Approach to Bed Weed Control
We apply a pre-emergent treatment to help prevent weed seeds from germinating and reduce future weed growth in your landscape beds.
We treat existing and actively growing weeds throughout the season. Applications are timed to address weeds as they emerge and grow.
Our program targets common landscape bed weeds such as dandelions, clover, henbit, plantain, spurge, chickweed, purslane, oxalis, thistle, and bittercress.
We also target difficult-to-control weeds such as wild violet and ground ivy. These weeds can be more persistent and may require repeated treatments for meaningful control.
Our program includes crabgrass prevention and post-emergent control, post-emergent nutsedge control, and treatments for certain perennial grasses, including tall fescue and bluegrass. Some grassy weeds are particularly difficult to control.
Our technicians apply liquid treatments directly to targeted weeds in landscape beds. The program focuses on product applications rather than hand-pulling, so weeds are not physically removed by our technicians.
Our program includes seven applications per annual cycle, typically scheduled four to six weeks apart to help manage weed growth throughout the season.

What Weeds Does Bed Weed Control Treat?
Ziehler Lawn Care's Bed Weed Control program targets common broadleaf weeds and selected grassy weeds in landscape beds.
Common Broadleaf Weeds
Our program targets common broadleaf weeds, including: Dandelions, clover, henbit and chickweed, plantain, spurge, purslane, oxalis, thistle and bittercress.
Difficult-to-Control Weeds
Wild violet and ground ivy are included in the program but can be more challenging to control. Multiple treatments may be needed before you see results.

What Isn't Included in Bed Weed Control?
Our Bed Weed Control program uses preventative and post-emergent treatments to help manage weeds in landscape beds. The program does not include hand-pulling or physical weed removal.
Some weeds, including poison ivy, wild strawberry, and tree saplings, are not covered by the program. Certain grassy weeds, such as paspalum, annual and rough bluegrass, barnyard grass, Bermuda grass, bentgrass, Johnsongrass, nimblewill, and foxtail, may be treated but can be very difficult to control.
Treatment results can also be affected by weather conditions, such as drought, the condition of your landscape, and maintenance practices, including keeping beds mulched and following proper pruning practices. The program does not include treatment for plant diseases or insects.
