THE PROCESS

The Ziehler Approach to PGA-Perfect Turf

Overseeding
Step 1
Core Aeration

Create the perfect seedbed for newly applied seed: allow new seed to easily germinate and spread its roots by pulling plugs from the ground.

Step 2
Liquid Lawn Aeration

Help plants unlock soil nutrients and use them efficiently: increase air, water, and nutrient absorption, and provide space for roots to flourish and grow.

Step 3
Overseeding

Apply custom-blended Tall Fescue for a drought tolerant, thick and green lawn that is disease and insect resistant. Also eliminate bare spots and prevent future weeds.

Step 4
Bare Spot Hand Work

Hand-till and hand-apply treatments to fill in bare spots and areas: cover and repair worn spots, fill in grass between hard surfaces, and retain moisture for future growth with seed starter mulch.

Step 5
Starter Fertilizer

Pack in macro and micro nutrients to nourish new seedlings: aid with feeding, rooting, and photosynthesis with a high phosphorous and potassium fertilizer blend.

Frequently Asked Questions About Aeration & Seeding

  • When is the best time to Aerate & Overseed your lawn?
    Text

Fall is the best and only time we offer aeration and overseeding. Our combination of core aeration, liquid lawn aeration, and overseeding is designed to take advantage of cooler temperatures, warm soil, and increased rainfall create ideal conditions for seed germination and root development, helping your lawn grow thicker and healthier.

Spring is not recommended for this service because new grass has less time to establish before the heat and stress of summer. Fall provides the optimal growing conditions needed for strong root development and a healthier lawn.

  • What are the benefits of lawn aeration and overseeding?
    Text

Ziehler’s Aeration & Overseeding service combines core aeration, liquid lawn aeration, and premium overseeding to improve overall lawn health and density. Core aeration helps relieve soil compaction so air, water, and nutrients can reach the roots, while liquid lawn aeration helps improve soil conditions. Overseeding fills in thin and bare areas with new grass. Together, these services help create a thicker lawn that is more drought tolerant and naturally better at crowding out weeds.

  • Will aeration and overseeding fix bare spots in my lawn?
    Text

Aeration and overseeding can help repair thin areas and improve overall lawn density.

  • How long does it take for grass seed to grow after overseeding?
    Text

Grass seed typically begins germinating within 7–21 days depending on soil temperature, moisture, and weather conditions. Proper watering after overseeding is essential for successful growth.
