Watering and Mowing Tips

There are three main components to having a great lawn:

1. Professional lawn treatment services from Ziehler Lawn and Tree Care

2. Proper mowing practices

3. Proper watering practices

If you do not currently have a professional lawn care company to provide the proper blend of nutrients and control products to your lawn, Ziehler Lawn and Tree Care would be more than happy to give you a free estimate. Also, to maximize your investment, please follow these simple instructions for mowing and watering:

Mowing

  • Always mow high to shade soil and crowd out weeds.
  • Sharpen your mower blade often.
  • Mulch the clippings if possible.
  • Never cut off more than one third of the grass blade.
  • Never mow when temperatures exceed 90 degrees.
  • We will blow off all debris and fertilizer from driveways, sidewalks, decks, and porches.
  • We will always be available to knowledgably answer any questions or concerns about your lawn.
  • We will provide Free Service Calls and estimates within 48 hours.
  • We will be dressed in a clean and neat uniform and be courteous and helpful at all times.
  • We will apply each application to the best of our ability.

Watering

  • A healthy lawn needs about 2 inches of water per week.
  • Only water when it is necessary. Often, rain is sufficient.
  • Never water at night during humid weather.
  • Water deeply (about an hour per zone every three days).
  • Be diligent and inspect your lawn regularly for signs of fungus, such as blade lesions.
  • Your lawn will go dormant and turn brown without sufficient water. This does not mean it is dead.

This is my first year with Ziehler Lawn & Tree Care. The lawn was the worst in the neighborhood, but with the service I received, I now have the best looking lawn. They were quick to answer any questions about the lawn and took care of any concerns.
