Spring

This special program includes a foliar dormant oil application in spring to control overwintering egg clusters and harmful insects. In the latter part of the spring season, we give evergreen trees and shrubs a special deep root fertilization that will promote strength and reduce insect and disease issues. We also provide insect and mite control treatments in the spring and summer months to protect your landscape against harmful insects and mites, and in the fall, we provide a deep-root fertilization for all of your deciduous trees around and shrubs so that they will have the nutrients they need to stay healthy.

Pest Control

An extremely important part of taking care of your lawn and landscaping is to have the proper pest control. Pests like ants, fleas, ticks, crickets, grubs, beetles and a non-native species called the Emerald Ash Borer can devastate your lawn and landscaping if not properly treated. That is why Ziehler provides outdoor pest control services. We offer a Perimeter Pest Control Program which is made up of five applications to help prevent crawling insects like roaches, spiders, crickets and earwigs from coming into your home. We also provide an Ant, Flea and Tick program which is made up of four applications to help take care of the various surface feeding insects like ants, fleas, ticks, chinch bugs, sod webworms and deer ticks.

One of the more devastating insects is what is known as the Emerald Ash Borer. As inferred by the name the Emerald Ash Borer is attracted to Ash trees and when the tree is unhealthy, a pheromone is excreted. The Emerald Ash Borer can infest and destroy Ash tree populations in a short amount of time. The best way to defend against this insect is for the tree to be as healthy as possible. If Ash trees go untreated they will become infected and die.
